The Recruiter Awards are one of the most recognised events in the UK staffing calendar. Each year they shine a light on the agencies pushing the industry forward - through performance, culture, innovation and client service. 2024 was no different.
The standout winners
A number of agencies made their mark across multiple categories this year. Understanding Recruitment retained the top spot in the technology sector with an impressive CAGR of 97%, a strong indicator of sustained growth in a competitive market.
ICG Global climbed from 13th place in 2022 to second spot, specialising in healthcare. Their 96.2% CAGR is remarkable and reflects the continuing demand for specialist healthcare staffing across the UK and internationally.
Xcede entered the top three as a newcomer, specialising in renewables and technology - two of the fastest-growing sectors for recruitment right now.
Individual recognition
Sasza Bandiera, CEO of Oyster Partnership, was named Agency Recruitment Leader of the Year. Her work steering Oyster to success is a strong example of how leadership shapes culture and commercial performance in equal measure.
The In-House Recruiter of the Year went to Vicki Parker at Vistra - recognition that in-house teams are becoming increasingly sophisticated in how they approach talent acquisition.
Innovation and DE&I
EY took home Recruitment Technology Innovation of the Year, reflecting how technology continues to reshape how agencies operate, screen and place candidates.
Trinnovo Group won the Diversity, Equality and Inclusivity Service Excellence award - a category that continues to grow in importance as clients demand more accountability from their recruitment partners.
Awards like these matter because they set a benchmark. If your agency is not tracking performance metrics, investing in leadership development or thinking about your DE&I position, your competitors almost certainly are.
What this means for your agency
The agencies winning at events like the Recruiter Awards tend to have a few things in common: a clear market position, a consistent marketing presence and a team that operates with both pace and process. None of that happens by accident.
If your agency is looking to build the kind of profile that gets recognised - by clients, candidates and the industry - marketing is one of the fastest levers you can pull.
